Kelly D. Kautz is an experienced trial attorney and negotiator. She has been practicing law in Metro Atlanta since 2002. Kelly has been recognized as a Rising Star by the Super Lawyers program.
Kelly represents clients in civil and criminal matters. Kelly has represented clients all over the State of Georgia and has argued and won cases all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court.
Kelly is a Gwinnett County native. Kelly is a graduate of Brookwood High School. She is also a Double Dawg. Kelly graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with both her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science/Criminal Justice and her Law Degree. Upon graduating Kelly served a 1 year clerkship in the Northern Judicial Circuit. She then went on to become an Assistant District Attorney in the Alcovy Circuit where she prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor cases. Upon leaving the District Attorney's Office Kelly worked for WNCW, one of the largest real estate law firms in the southeast. Kelly has operated her own law practice in Snellville, Georgia since 2006. She has successfully represented hundreds of clients in a wide range of legal matters.
Kelly has also worked as an adjunct professor teaching courses in Legal Studies, Political Science, Criminal Justice and Philosophy and Ethics at Georgia Gwinnett, Argosy and Shorter Colleges.
In 2011, Kelly was elected as the first female Mayor of Snellville, a non-partisan position. Prior to being elected Mayor Kelly served as a member of the Snellville City Council for 5 years.
Kelly is involved in many civic and community organizations in her community. She serves on the Organizing Committee for the Snellville MLK Day March and the Snellville Flag Day Celebration, and she was previously the chair of the Snellville Days Parade, and is a past-president and vice-president of the Gwinnett County Criminal Defense Bar .
Kelly has participated in Leadership Gwinnett and was the founder of Leadership Snellville. Kelly has been recognized as an Outstanding Georgia Citizen , and the University of Georgia Alumni have recognized Kelly as a 40 Under 40.
Kelly is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Georgiaiincluding the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals and the Northern Circuit District Court.
